  • What are the rates for a taxi ride and how are they determined by Travel & Transit?
    Our rates for taxi rides are legally determined rates that are set nationwide.
    Starting fee: € 3.60, kilometer fee € 2.65, and minute fee € 0.44. (1-4 persons)
    Starting fee: € 7.33; kilometer fee: € 3.34, and minute fee: € 0.49 (5-8 persons).
    The maximum waiting rate is € 49.64 per hour.
    For additional requested services, additional charges may apply. This will be communicated in advance.
  • Is it possible to reserve a taxi ride in advance and how does it work?
    Yes that is possible!
    When booking by phone, you can indicate for which date or time you would like to book.
    We will make sure that a car is ready 5 minutes before the indicated time.
  • How long does it typically take for a taxi to arrive at the agreed-upon location?
    When booking by phone, we ensure that a taxi is at your location within 7 minutes. However, sometimes this may take slightly longer on holidays or locations outside Amsterdam.
  • Do you accept payments by credit card and/or cash, and are there other options available?
    You can pay in our taxi either with cash or with a debit card. Our drivers always carry a card machine with them. With it, you can also pay with Visa/Maestro and Mastercards.
  • Do you have special vehicles available for people with mobility impairments?
    You can communicate your preferences in advance when you book a taxi with us. We will try to find a taxi that meets your requirements. However, there may be a longer waiting time.
  • Do you offer corporate accounts and, if so, what are the benefits of this?
    It is possible for companies to drive on account. This is very convenient because you receive a weekly overview of the rides driven. You can then pay weekly/monthly. For more information, please contact us.
  • Is it possible to receive an invoice for the taxi ride?
    When you request a receipt during payment, our driver will provide a printout of the ride. It will show how many kilometers have been driven and provide a breakdown of the costs.
  • Do you also provide group transportation services, and if so, what are the capacities of your vehicles?
    Yes, that is possible. Once you inform us about your requirements, we can make a plan for the type of vehicle needed. We have access to vans with 7-person/8-person capacity. We also have vans with 16-person capacity and 22 persons. For larger groups, please contact us for more information.
  • Are there additional charges for taxi rides that go outside the city limits?
    No, you only pay the taxi meter fare for your ride. It doesn't matter whether you need to go within Amsterdam or all the way to the other side of the country!
  • Are child seats available, and if so, what are the costs?
    Please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of a driver with a child seat. Fortunately, according to Dutch law, this is not required in taxis. Taxis and public transport are exempt from this requirement, as long as your child can sit on your lap.
  • Do you offer 24-hour service, and if so, are the rates the same as during the day?
    At Travel & Transit, you can always rely on us for a taxi service, 24/7! We apply the same meter prices day and night.
  • Do you also provide taxi transportation to airports, and if so, which airports are they?
    We can transport you to any airport you wish, regardless of whether it is in the Netherlands. We also frequently drive to Antwerp or Brussels, as well as Germany and France.
